Our Slide Show & Script
(The power point can't be put up, so we decided to roughly put the things in our power point)

(slide #1)
Presentation for the Literature playground

Group leader: Shawnn
Group members: Vivian, Mandy, Jia Ying, Cai Geng
Name of playground: Land of Dreams
Target group: Emotional trauma (Phobia of blood)

(Script for slide #1)
-Introduce the group
-Explain the name of playground

(Slide #2)
Why did we choose children with the phobia of blood as our target group?

—One of our team mate came up with this idea

(Script for slide #2)
-we had thought of many ideas, but we could not agree on one, but everyone agreed on this, so we chose it

(Slide #3 & 4)
Characteristics of children with the phobia of blood

Facts:
—-It causes fainting, which is uncommon in most other fears
—-Can be caused by direct or vicarious trauma in childhood or adolescence
—There is also genetic components to it

(Script for slide #3)
1st point: It is uncommon as, in other phobias, they would just be quite agitated when they face their fears, but in the phobia of blood, they would just faint without feeling any tension
2nd point: This means that phobia of blood can be caused by experiencing horrific scenes of blood or seen it when they were a child or a teenager
3rd point: This means that this phobia can be passed down by their parents

( Slide #4)
How to help them:
-Psychological interventions (unique)
—-Applying tension to muscles in an effort to increase blood pressure
—-Pacemakers to regulate the beating of the heart

(script for slide #4)
1st point: This treatment is by mental adjusting, it is unique as people are seldom cured using this method as they have had this phobia since young
2nd point: Applying tension just means something like massaging; this will increase blood pressure, so that they would get more fresh air and remain calm
3rd point: Pacemaker is a small machine that is fixed inside someone’s chest in order to make them have a regular heart beat, which will help them to prevent hyperventilation and fainting

(Slide #5)
Special features connecting to the specific needs of our target group

—-Graffiti board

—-Speakers (disguised as flowers)
—-Tree house
(Script for slide #5)
Graffiti board- It allows children to express themselves, hence works as a psychological treatment
Flowers- It is the replacement of a pacemaker, with the rhythm of the songs. It is disguised so that the children would not be constantly reminded that they have an illness
Tree house- Psychological treatment with all their dreams written on it

(Slide #6)
From scrap to playground!

(Script for slide #6)
Materials that we used are ice-cream sticks, threads, toothpicks, Styrofoam board, herbal candy box, straws, blue tack, some coloured paper, and what we have now is this beautiful playground

(Slide #7 & 8)
Why was our playground built this way?
(Slide #7)

(Script for slide #7)
-This is the top view of our playground

(Slide #8)
—No sharp things in the playground
—No red coloured things in the playground
—Colourful
(Script for slide #8)
- to avoid them getting hurt, which will cause blood
- as it reminds them of blood
- so that the playground will look vibrant and fun!
(Slide #9)
Thank you!!! :D

The tree is somewhere the children can pin their hopes or dreams on the tree. This will encourage them to conquer their fears, and have dreams. As Terabithia is a land of dreams, this tree will be very important.
